Strut Bar

Hi, i thinking about adding a front strut bar to my car, maybe bigger front and rear sway bar later too. so what to Buy, want brand, i want quality but i don't want to pay only for a name, so a good compromise with quality and price. i the first i will put that on on of my car. so i don't much about it.
the only 'Mod' i got on my FIT his bigger 205/55 R15 fuzion ZRI tire ( i really like them!
Thank you

There is a lot of debate on strut bars in regards to whether or not they actually do anything. Personally I feel like they'll do something when you're on the extremes of pushing the car, and thats about the only time you'll feel it.

Personally I'm a spoon/mugen whore so I'll be buying the mugen bar one of these days...

i have an aspec from and rear bar. I only put the front one on and couldn't feel that big of a difference. The rear bar was a p.o.s so its sitting in the basement. The spoon and mugen are a lot better quality that an aspec so i would invest in one of those.

Progress rear sway bar is the best mod out there. Don't was money on strut bars.

you can actually feel the car's handling improve when you add the rsb. front and rear struts dont add improvement since the front strut towers are so close to the firewall.

i have the spoon front strut bar simply cause i can but i dont think it adds any value to the cars handling unless your tracking all the time.

The way the rear strut bar from aspec mounts up is stupid. Looks cheap, and looks like it doesn't do anything.

Progress rear sway bar is all you need if you're an occasional tracker. that mod does the most for your handling really.

Agree with this. Go with progress RSB, will never go wrong with a RSB upgrade. I'm planning on adding coils and RSB, some said it's not necessary to have both as I read some have remove their RSB right after the installation of coils.

RSB first then get the front strut bar. I got the Gtspec front strut bar on eBay for $60 shipped. But you have to get the hardware to mount it at your hardware store. It cost me $9. The front strut bar is pretty thick compared to those generic ones. After I installed the strut bar it just tightened everything up.

Thank people! Yeah after posting that, i seach around in forums, in a lot of people say that front strut bar doen't do much on a Fit like lot of you said. it,s true the rear End of the fit is the 'weakest' part of the handling. I don't track my car but i love to sometime take curve a good speed to test My fit handling ( and my new tire Rock on that point) I think i'm gonna go for a rear Sway Bar upgrade. the Progress Sway seem to be to one to get. i won't be able to install it myself Thought, i dont have any tool or garage for that.

as always... and i know I will get flamed... but the rear sway bar doesnt work. its all in your head. a bigger front sway bar is better on the fit.

Strut bars do nothing unless they are completely solid (no joints). I have yet to see one for the Fit that doesn't have joints. Cusco used to make a few really good front strut bars for hondas, but that was years ago.

I put the Progress rear bar on my TSX and was very impressed with it. It was not only a big handling improvement, but the quality was there, everything fit correctly and looked like it was build to last.

Most FWD drive cars can benefit from more rear way bar. Most FWD cars can also benefit from less front roll bar, or no front bar. All of the super fast autocross EF hondas (Civics and CRX's) run less or no front sway bar, the Fit isn't that far off from the EF Civic hatches from back in the day and I think the same approach could be used successfully on the Fit.

It is an easy test, just undo one of the front links on the front sway bar and see if it improves the car or not to you. Unless you really care about it enough to measure it with a stopwatch on an identical course, its all subjective anyways.

No doubt... a rear sway bar on most other cars work very well... on the fit however... not so well. No sway bar or a bigger in the front with adjustable links works. I actually run no front swaybar on mine.

i didn't wanted to star another debate lol

it's true that the Fit as a torsion beam rear suspension in the, there's already a big solid beam there. :-) I want to improve handling but i don't want to Drop my car i like the way it is, for confort reason and Winter reason :-) i love a rigid car but not to much, the tire already did a Nice job.
it's logical that a FWD will improve from a less rigid front, it reduce oversteer.
i might just leave it like that... i'll improve the brake instead!

you will NEVER "feel it"
only a stopwatch MAYBE might show something
theoretically they do something but YOU WILL NEVER FEEL ANYTHING
only the emperor with no clothes MIGHT feel anything

if u can pull off gran turismo/forza laptimes repeatedly (5+ laps in a row) within 0.1 secs and get gold on every license, then maybe u can do that in real life, then maybe u could feel it

anybody that says "they can feel it" should be avoided at all costs

i KNOW my carbon fiber hood is theoretically faster but I AM NOT A MORON, SO I WOULD NEVER STATE THAT I COULD "FEEL THE DIFFERENCE"

u can lie to others but when u lie to yourself, that is the true crime
