Hi all -
I'm new to the Honda Fit life and had a question I'm hoping you all might be able to help with - recently got a 2007 Fit Sport.

I've noticed that, even when the passenger seat is empty, the Passenger Airbag Off light never comes on...i'm wondering why that would be? I'm worried it may not actually be working? i understand it should only be illuminated if the seat is empty because of the weight sensors.

Has anyone else encountered this before? Any solutions or ideas?

The OFF light should come on for about 5 seconds when you start the car then the light(OFF) should automatically turn off and will stay off.

 

it's not an issue. If no one is in the seat, it wont sense anything so the light stays off. If someone like my son (45lbs or so) sits there, light comes on. There has to be weight for the sensor to work.....IIRC

Today, my passenger airbag OFF light came on and stayed on after I dropped off my passenger. I tried shutting off the car at a red light but it came on and stayed on for the duration of the trip. When I got home, I sat in the passenger seat with the car running and the light went off. Could it be my sensor is going bad?

 

Nope, that sounds exactly the way it should be operating. You don't want the airbag to operate if someone too light is there, so the airbag will only operate with a minimum weight in the seat.
