well the engine side, they said that the spark plug was forced out of the head and took the threads with it... there's really no way for that to happen if the plug was too loose, so i'm guessing that someone really tightened down one of the plugs and damaged the threads in the process, and over time the metal was stressed to the point where it developed a leak...

so the lesson is: properly torque your plugs... duh...

the car is back in our posession if that's what you mean...

the engine is fixed... although there is a rattle that i'm trying to track down...

on the insurance side... no resolution... we're still out a nice headunit and 500 dollars...

so for all of you in the area - i highly recommend NOT going to Piazza Honda in Limerick... HIGHLY...

That sucks. A good mechanic's stethoscope can help locate a lot of noises and other things you might or might NOT want to find!

I would go after the dealer for the replacement or reimbursement of the radio and money! That's complete crap!

Sorry for you troubles.... Hope the next service on the car is oil change only!

Renting a borescope and pulling the plugs couldn't hurt either.

Gah, reading this thread made me wanna get all stabby. I certainly hope you can stick the dealer with two breaking/entering jobs on the same car while in their possession.

Good luck, keep us posted I am genuinely curious how this all began in the first place! It seems like improperly torqued plug would have just rattled out and then broken the coil pack instead of taking the threads and whatever else with it. Aluminum is pretty soft though...

Unfortunately the next closest dealer is Piazza Honda of Reading.

That having been said, I'd take a chance with the Reading location. I haven't dealt with their service department, but I have dealt with sales and parts in both locations. In both cases, Reading won hands down. I won't ever buy parts, or a car, from Piazza Honda of Pottstown (Limerick).
