Getting a Keyport Slide
Hey there everyone,
I've been a long time member, rarely posting but definitely reading up on stuff from time to time ever since I got my '07 Fit (wow she's 3 yrs old now!). Anyways, I was reading engadget the other day, and I stumbled upon the Keyport Slide, a sort of neat little gadget that consolidates every one of your keys and puts them in a swiss army knife-type enclosure. I got the blue one (for my VBP Fit ^^) and I figure I'd share my progress from the time of order up to the final product. Hopefully things will be quite smooth! For anyone interested, check out mykeyport.com.
Just placed my order today, and waiting for their response. Looks like they'll use one of my keys to get the chip working for the Keyport Slide to function with the Fit. Honestly, I'm pretty excited
One tiny question for everyone out there..is there a keyless entry fob without an integrated key so I can keychain it to this? I'm open to any option, but I would prefer an OEM solution just for simplicity.

An update: My keys arrived at Keyport for the adaptation to the Keyport Slide. Hopefully I'll receive the kit sometime next week.

The keyless entry kit for the Base has separate fobs. IIRC, those can be programmed to work with the Sport keyless entry unit and vice versa. Don't take my word for it though, there are other threads on this.

Keyport is awesome!
I've had one for a long time now, but I wanted to add my Honda Fit to my Keyport setup. Here's what I did:
I was fortunate enough to have Valet keys included with my Fit purchase. I sent my valet keys to Keyport where they removed the pre-programmed chips. I purchased two Honda Fit blades that they copied over there. The reason for this, is after removing the chip; the there isn't enough a key that could be salvaged for a key blade. I also purchased two empty Honda key shells for the remaining fob circuitry and buttons. Keyport shaved the key off the shell and put the fob parts insides to make a tiny little pseudo fob, if you will. I am very satisfied with the results. I did these to both of our keyports (fiance's too) and we couldn't be happier. Beforehand, the darn Honda key stuck out and bugged me in my pockets. It also looked horrible on our keyports.
Here are some pictures with the final results:
