First post: roadtrip with Feeet!

Sorry, my family calls the car a "Feeet".

I just drove my Fit back to Alberta from Ontario about three weeks ago and am embarking on a 11000 mile, 5 week road trip in it leaving this coming Sunday. I've got my futon's double rock-wool alleged mattress in the back of it but it's really unsightly and takes away from some packing room that I could use so here's the question: would I be able to fit just a twin mattress in it length-wise without a box spring with the rear seats folded forward? Is the cargo bay wide enough between the wheel wells to allow it to fit? It'd be real nice to sleep in it most nights instead of a hotel (although a shower might be nice....).

Thanks!

That's the thing: If it'll fit then I'll go buy one that I could use for the top of my bunk-futon. If it won't then I'll just use the padding from the futon.
