Aluminum vs. wood interior dash kit upgrade?
I'm new BTW. I just bought a 2007 white honda fit sport in july, to replace a 1988 acura legend ls. So far, I've loved the fact that the Fit is new and everything works, and it gets good gas mileage. However, the inside kind of feels cheap compared to what I used to drive, so I'm considering buying a dash kit and upgrading the interior a bit.
Question - has anyone else done this? I'm trying to decide between aluminum or wood. I know the aluminum would look more organic with the existing interior, but I think the wood might add a luxury dimension. Has anyone added wood trim to their interior? Does it seem out of place to you, or does it just seem really nice inside?
Thanks!

I really like my wood dash the pic of the 40 year old dash is kinda bogus.
Just my thoughts it give the Fit a less econ feel, but if your into CF or a certian color there's alot of different types out there 13 piece to 36 piece sets and priced accordingly. GL

Personal taste for me - I hate the way to wood kids look. Wood dash trim is used sparingly on classy cars:

The wood looks out of place if it's just used as a plastic cap r replacement panel for every trim surface. It also looks out of place without leather seats and at the very least, high quality, soft touch dash/door trim.
The days of plastic imitation wood giving an upscale look to a cheap car went out with bench white-walled tires and wheel-covers that look like laced wheels.

Wow thanks for your input everyone. Nice pics Black3sr and Perrenoud. It is good to know that it can look good either way. Of course this doesn't help make my decision any easier. Black3sr, did you use leather seat covers? Yours looks really nice...
My Clazzios are combo of leather middles and the rest vinyl. Pricey but well worth it in my opinion and others that have them like them as well.
Nice shots of your dash! there blackster, tring to see the leather seats.
Going ther now
Now here's a new twist for woodgrain vvvvvv

So I decided on aluminum, now I just have to wait until they send the kit... (expected ship date, oct 6) I'll post pics once it arrives and I install it, in case anyone else has similar quandries in the future...
