CariD Dash Kit
CariD Dash Kit
Hey all!
Ok, so recently I've been wanting to get a dash kit for my car. I knew I didn't want wood because the Fit, regrettably, isn't classy enough for wood trim in my view. So, I wanted something that matched the rest of my interior but gave it a flair, a zing. As I searched and searched I found that CariD had some great prices and options on a dash kit.
First, some overview. These kits are made to order, so they take a pretty long time to get to you. However, because they are made to order, you feel a bit more special about getting it. I really felt like they were MY parts, not someone else's. Customer service was impeccable, they couldn't have been nicer. Ever gave me free 2 day shipping after my order was behind schedule!

First image. the pieces fit very nice and snug. The window switch panels need to be curved a bit by hand, but not too much. They also give you PLENTY of alcohol swabs and adhesive primer...USE THEM ALL!!!!

The details really matter. This picture doesn't show it, but the kit includes the piece right beneath the vents, which add a LOT to the look.

The radio is by far my favorite. The carbon fiber is real, and it's in a blue and black color scheme, just like the rest of the interior of the Fit!
After all was said and done, the installation took about an hour. It was really simple, but you must make sure all of your surfaces are clean. I had recently treated my interior with Armor All, and I had to spend a lot of time with soap and water making sure it was all off because sticky stuff doesn't like the oil in Armor All.
The reason I made this was because when I was looking up pictures of it in the Fit, in real life, I couldn't find anything...so, here you go! If you're thinking about it, do it. It adds a very special feeling to your car every time you get into it.

LOOKIN' GOOD!
I felt the same as you when I bought my CR-V...the interior on that car is ALL BLACK. So I bought some real CF (in red) from:
JJ Products, West Caldwell, NJ.
Installation was perfect... its been six years, still looks great. JJ includes cleaning pads to use before you apply the CF...
Honda CR-V Wood Dash Kits | CRV Dash Kit | Benevento Dash Trim | Rosewood Dash Trim | Burlwood Accents | Molded Dash Kits | Wood Dash Overlay
I don't see anything for the Fit, though.

I got the same blue/black carbon fiber trim from CARID for my GE. I especially liked how the radio came out, too.

After a year or so the area where I needed to bend it around the window controls came off. Not sure what to do- I suppose I need to soften it with a hair dryer and add more adhesive. The radio and vent covers still look good.
