I hope all his posts are a joke. Only way to hear VTEC in a fit is to swap in a K motor.

PLEASE SEARCH BEFORE POSTING all of the questions you asked have been covered multiple times.

Can someone explain what this means? Is he referring to the popping, sputtering backfiring you get when you free the airflow on a motor without remapping the ECU or rejetting the carbs? (A.K.A. the "dumbass" sound - common on motorcycles with shadetree mechanic 'enhancements')

what he's reffering to is the kind of boost that happens when the DOHC vtec comes in (vtec just kicked in yo) but the Fit has a Vtec SOHC (single cam) that's why you don't actually feel it...

but im no engine expert

its the sound he's looking for...and no the fit won't do it

A)because it is such a low rpm when it switches over

annnnnd

B)the stock intake manifold muffles the intake noise like no other.

but even with something like the weapon-r IM I don't think its really all that loud because of the low rpm threshold.

The only way I was ever able to get my vtec to "crack" was to trade in my fit for an f20c.

Don't modern variable valve timing systems use progressive, continuous changes in the timing rather than the on/off of 1990s? At least most systems... it's so common now, putting VTEC in big letters on the SI seems about as cool as FUEL INJECTED badges GMs used to have in the late 80's and early 90s.

Well, from what I gather, VTEC in Honda engines is still on/off. There is a VTC, which more closely resembles VVT of other engines, but even then, it's in stages (low -> mid, mid -> high, and back down).

vtec does not "crack" because on the L15 vtec is on the intake valves only.. not the exhaust valves once you crossover into vtec you opens 16 valves in the head instead of 12.... readd onnnn.. u are in the second link being that you're a GE owner
