Broken fog light cover

Just noticed yesterday that the covers on my fog lights (2008 Fit Sport) are broken. I checked with a guy at Bernardi who said you can't just replace the plastic cover, you have to buy the whole unit, but I find that hard to believe. The lights work fine, and I don't want to spend $150 per side to replace them when it's just the cover that is broken. Any suggestions? Thanks!

All over ebay motors:
2007 - 2008 HONDA FIT FOG LIGHT SET OEM 08V31-SLN-110 - eBay (item 160547889145 end time Feb-24-11 18:33:07 PST)
I think I bought my set from this vendor. Be aware that the plastic housing are not painted. For those that want to black their housings this is perfect cause the plastic is like a flat black.
Kit came with everything like to set a base Fit up with fogs.
Rep me if this help you out

Yes, you can swap the covers. The fog lights are attached to the covers via 2 screws. FYI one of the screw is attached to a spring loaded arm that adjust the alignment of the fog. Check your fog lights aim against a wall or keep a note of how much the alignment screw is tighten.

Somewhere on the forum there's a DIY on using lexan to re-make the lens. It works great if you don't want to buy another weak stock unit. Much more robust and forgiving of an impact and so far on mine no deterioration, besides you're not out anything since you're salvaging an already broken unit. I didn't find it before I wrote my own version but it's basically the same thing. Basically spend $5 at Home Depot, cut, clean, epoxy, install, profit.

This will be entirely up to each dealer. Don't go into a dealer expecting them to cover it. More then likely they will blame a rock or something else cracking the fog. On the other hand it cost nothing to try

If it's ur plastic man, then yes u can just buy the ebay fogs, and use the plastic that they give u. the fogs are easy to take off from the plastic, just 2 screws. Probably ur best bet!

I don't want you hurting yourself with the search button, so here it is. I used this method myself with some pics included.
