Angry Found this on my car yesterday morning

By far the worst door ding, I've ever seen!

$655 and 3 days to fix it.

They didn't leave a note or anything.

My insurance will pay all but my deductible ($250) and for my rental up to $30/day.

I hate people!!!

Gah.. thats pretty bad.

I had something similar happen but on the drivers door about a month after I got my GD.

How does someone even do that? And I purposely park away from everyone!

That sucks! And its on the crease on top of that, which is the strongest point on the door's sheet metal. Did you at least try buffing out the scratch to see if you could use a paintless dent repair company?

I have a smaller ding on the same door on the crease about 3 inches from the door handle.

The body shop I took it too also does paintless dent repair and I asked if it was an option (because I know I can fix just the scratch) and they guy said they could probably do it, but because it is right on the crease, he didn't now how well it would turn out and there would probably still be a ripple visible along the crease which does make sense.

And their dent repair would cost $175 (which is expensive, but they do good work) so I would just rather pay the extra $75 and have them fix everything.

And an added "bonus" for the full body repair, to make sure the paint is perfectly color matched they are repainting my front driver's door and the rear quarter panel to match the rear door. And I've got some pretty good scratches on my door.

So I guess its okay, the worst part is being without my car for 2.5 - 3 days. I will be in an Aveo or Accent from Enterprise

Jeez talk about insult to injury... an Aveo (actually a Daewoo) or a Dodge Caravan,? The Accent isn't too bad I guess. Either way they are all better than nothing when you need to get to work!

I hope it comes out nice for you! That stuff is infuriating! Can you post some after pictures? I never got my dent fixed, and it is also on the crease/beltline part of the panel..

And if it makes you feel better:

My GFs volvo was in a flash flood a couple years ago, the engine took in water fortunately nothing seeped into the interior.. and that was that.

So for the two weeks her insurance had it to swap the engine, she had to drive an early PT Cruiser.

Even though it was the turbo 2.3 model.. the turbo didn't boost performance so much as it killed gas mileage.

And it was purple...

Haha, that sucks. I have 2 friends with PT's and both hate their cars. I test drove one before I bought my GD and wow that car is a pos.

I will post pics when I get it fixed, but its not getting fixed until March 2. With all of these crazy snowstorms, the body shops are pretty full!!

I'd be so mad. I do have a couple of scratches though. One looks like a bird pooped on the passenger door.

Glad you got it fixed!

I'd take it back... good color match, but looks like it has a rough orange peel effect

Its just the glitter in the paint messing with the camera. In person, it looks and feels absolutely perfect.

I took off of these pics with my phone, Samsung Epic 4G

YouTube - 2009 TSX "Switchblade" key in a 2008 Accord Coupe

Its just the Acura switchblade key, which works with the Fit. In the 08 Fit's you don't have to replace the immobilzer chip, the one in the key works just fine. You just have to order the key from Acura, and then take the key and your car to a Honda dealership and the will cut and program it for you.

The youtube vid is an Accord Coupe with the Acura key, just so you can get a better look at the key.
