Hi Guys

I have a 2001 fit, and needs to install a new Vortex stereo, but the problem is that the wire colors don't match the new stereo. The wire colors that's in the fit, are as follows:

Yellow/red stripe
pink
blue/white stripe
green/yellow stripe
green/black stripe
red/black stripe
white/red stripe
blue/yellow stripe
blue/black stripe
grey/red stripe
light green
black

Could someone please help me out here

Typical Honda wiring is:

Yellow/red stripe
Accessory (power)

red/black stripe
Dimmer (headlights on)

white/red stripe
Memory (always hot)

black
Ground

pink
blue/yellow stripe
Right rear

blue/white stripe
blue/black stripe
Left rear

green/yellow stripe
grey/red stripe
Right front

green/black stripe
light green
Left front

^ Radio wiring diagram. Its for a 2002 and I couldn't find one for an 2001 but I'm guessing it'll be similar.

 

Thanks guys, this is what I was looking for. Just another question, I have connected the speakers and matched it up with the new stereo, but I'm not 100% sure about the rest of the wires e.g White/red, yellow/red and Red/black. Where should I hook these wires up,? I suppose that all new car stereos have the same color coding these days.

The best way to identify what the wires on your stereo are intended to hook up to (by function) is to check the manual that comes with it. However, *most* aftermarket head units will use:

Red for switched power (Honda Yellow/red)
Yellow for memory (Honda White/red)
Orange/white for dimmer (Honda Red/black)
