Another Battery Gone

it's been finicky the past few months...

i DID find that bosch, sold through pepboys, DOES in fact sell a 151r... however from what i saw has a lower cca rating than the stocker (at 325)...

walmart only has the standard everstart in the 51r (not the maxx)...
sears only has the standard diehard in the 51r (not the gold)...
advance only has the autocraft gold in the 51r (not the titanium)...

autozone has the duralast gold in the 51r... $97 + core...

pepboys does have the bosch premium 51r in stock, way closer, and rated better... for a few bucks less than the duralast...

i would probably have gone with the diehard, but they switched manufacturers from odyssey so i'm not so excited about that (except for the agm titanium ones which are f-ing expensive)...

a 51R will fit, with a slight trim of the lower battery tray. Do yourself a favor and upgrade to the bigger battery.

Honda Fit Car Battery Replacement

hi, I just found this thread. I just wanted to confirm. I have a 2008 honda fit sport, and my battery just died. I was reading Honda is the only one that has the right sized battery. Are you guys saying this "bosch premium 51r" battery will fit and work with it? Do you know what stores I can buy this at?

the bosch brand (at pepboys) DOES have the stock sized battery, a 151r, available... it matches the stock specs and has a great warranty...

i wanted the cheaper 51r which has a longer reserve and a higher cca rating... the 51r JUST fits and the battery tray needs to be trimmed just a bit...

I have a deep cycle yellow top for sale barely used. Fits perfect with the stock intake box but does not fit with an after market intake. Pm me if anyone's interested.

Doesn't Walmart sell replacement batteries for the 1st generation? Every time the battery in my 1994 SE-R went bad on me, I just took it to Walmart and they replaced it there.

I just jumped my car and went to Walmart. They told me they don't have any batteries they can install for a 2007 Fit. So where else can I go now?

I doubt it but is there any chance my battery is covered under the certified used car warranty. I purchased it 3-10-10. Only put 2,000 miles or so on it. http://automobiles.honda.com/certifi.../warranty.aspx

you want someone to install it for you?

in that case it would most likely be a honda dealer, or pepboys since they are the only ones i have found that have the stock battery size...

so far out of the stock battery, interstate megatron 51r, optima yellow top, and this kinetik hc800....this hc800 is the best battery hands down.
i would imagine... but it's also more money that i wanted to spend on a battery... i wanted an agm battery but they're expensive and several days to ship... i needed it cheaper and much sooner...

glad its working for you

I had no luck finding one @ Pep Boys yesterday. I wound up buying a bigger than stock battery today at Illinois Battery. They removed my battery tray and squeezed it in. I think it was a 51R. What matters is it came out $45 less than what Honda charges you. Although I'm still not happy with how Honda has a small monopoly on this size battery. It figures, since I'm upset with the battery in my motorcycle too. Now I'm wondering about buying a cheap trickle charger for my car battery since I don't use it much at this time of year. The trickle charger for my motorcycle does a great job of keeping the battery well maintained.

My battery died out as well on my 08. I just went by the dealer and they replaced it no charge. Dont forget the battery itself has a 3 year warranty.

I'm glad to hear that since my car is 4 years old now, I didn't screw myself out of a free replacement battery.

mines a 08, stock battery is still powering very well, summers only get to about 95F, but winters are pretty cold here like 0-5F range.

i rev high on cold days when making short trips to the stores or something. 4K rpm cruising at like 2nd or 3rd gear. this helps charge the battery and get the oil temp hotter so that moisture evaporates. keeps the car healthy. yes i do waste some gas, but at the end saves me money.

Given the size of the Fit battery, I'm wondering if any motorcycle battery can be used to replace it with?
