Recirculating vent weaker than outside air
So the other day I had to use A/C for the first time this year. I noticed my vents were not blowing that hard. it was cranked to 4 vent face and feet. even on face alone, it doenst feel like a torrent of air.
When i switch to use outside air, then the air is blasting. My windows are closed by the way.
I remember that my Fit was the opposite of this last time I used my AC.
I flipped the switch back and forth and messed with the temperature but still the same problem. Recycled air is just weak now.
any ideas to what the problem could be?

Yeah. Recirc should be stronger. The key factor is that my windows are CLOSED. Granted if the windows are open then the pressure difference is decreased and the air has a place to go. But my recirc is on 4 it feels like a 2 on open air.

the A/C will not need to work as hard if it is recirculating air that is already cool. It should become cooler quicker. If car has to cool hot air from outside , a/c will work harder and be less efficient.

Im in Tucson, Az so we all know that heat is a big thing here, i hardly ever use the AC unless the fiance is in the car. when i do turn it on i always keep it at 2 and i do not put it on recirculation, consider checking the air filter located behind the glove compartment

Take out the cabin air filter in the glove box and let us know if it speeds up back to normal. I came across the same problem last week, so I changed the dirty filter, but it still blows weak unless I remove the filter- plastic tray and all.

Check behind the glove box and make sure there is no obstruction. I had a situation recently where the recirc setting gave me almost no air output. The fan, even on "4", the fan would blow, but there wasn't any output. I pulled out the glove box, and I found a piece of paper covering the air inlet. Took out the paper, and the problem was solved. Also, this would be a great time to inspect your cabin filter.
