HellaSupertone install
OK, I got the two horns...but, where the hell is the horn located in the engine bay of the gd3?.. I mounted them already behind the upper grille... I want to eliminate the oem one but use the same wires to eliminate a relay...

Only have them mount'd right now, I'll probably hook them up this weekend - now that I know where the oem horn is located... I will keep ya posted....

Haha Big Mike, no they did not have them in c/f, but don't think I didn't do a major search for them....

Hella loud!!
Don't know if anyone has tried this before....so I did it.
OK, finally got my 5, yes I said four hella horns and the oem horn hook'd. I ran them all continuously from the single positive wire that connects to the oem horn. Bypassed the relay and separate fuse altogether. Horns operate from the oem steering wheel. This was done without removing the front bumper cover, but the rear bumper cover had to be removed for mounting horns there via drilling holes for negative ground with brace of the horns.
Starting with the front two, which I mounted behind the the upper grill with heavy duty zip ties-no screws or hole needed here. I ran the + wire down through the engine bay to the + wire of the oem horn and spliced it and the + wire leading to the rear altogether. The front - wires were ground to the firewall becuz they can't ground themselves to plastic to which they are secured.
The two rear horns metal brace grounded directly into the metal bumper brace/support behind the bumper cover with screw. As I stated the +'s were connected to the oem + along with the front horns.(3 way + hook up)
So, now all 5 horns work simultaneously...you talk about a loud "sickening and nauseating" horn this thing is now..
While testing my neighbors came out and said "What the hell are you doing over there...there are no trains around here, can you knock that shit off please!!!''
I'll take some photo's and try to record the sound soon and post it...

They are Sickspeed ontop, the decibel levels are supposedly identical.... But, If Hella supertones are louder than these, then they got to be of the charts. I most definitely wouldn't need to go any louder, these Sickspeed's are already ridiculously loud..

I have a set of real Hella Supertones that I've been considering installing. So you just spliced the +ve and -ve from the horns to the OEM wiring and that's it? The Hellas come with a relay and other instructions on how to wire it up with a harness. Unnecessary?
