Japanese Navigation Language
I have a question about your Japanese Language Navigation Unit. I'm actually looking to add Navigation to my wife's Fit and would actually be delighted if it were in Japanese for her (Being she is native Japanese). Does the Navigation actually work with the U.S. Maps? I'm considering aftermarket Navigation unit, but it's actually difficult to find a navigation with Japanese language support in the U.S.

I've been unable to operate the unit and had to buy aftermarket so not too sure about US maps.
It seems to only have Japan maps loaded, but not too sure as do not understand the language.
You can have my unit if you like, just pay for the transport.

I looked into this for my '03 fit, bought used a while back in the Philippines.
Mine is a Japanese market Fit, imported and then changed over to left hand drive. The original dash stereo/nav system is all in Japanese. There were other languages available through Honda, but it requires a DVD specific to the language and area you want, and those are no longer available. Even if you change the language it only has the map data for 2003 Japan.
My other issues are all related to the changeover from right to left hand drive, like the fact that the AC is stuck in recirculation mode - no external air feed. The automatic temp control doesn't work. I think the dash came from a wrecked Jazz, just kludged with duct tape and spit to do the adapting, but the stereo/nav system was carried over. They didn't even connect the AUX connector to the stereo. The CD player only plays older style music only CD's, no MP3 or digital CD's work. I would replace the player, which is not too difficult, but only plan on keeping the car another year or two at the most.
