Keyless Entry Does Not Beep

LOCK Button
When used alone, this button locks the doors and
the tailgate and flashes the parking lights once.
NOTE:
If the lock button is pressed for a
second time (within 5 seconds of the first
push) the horn will beep once and parking
lights will flash once to confirm the doors and

the tailgate are locked

Noticed today the horn dosent beep if the lock button is pressed second time within 5 secods of the first push.

Doors lock on first press and parking light flash once. Second press the parking light flash once.

Panic button functions - (horn blares)

Any Thoughts? (Kind of miss the beep now)

Work done recently on vehicle:

Replaced Anti Freeze.
Intalled power cable via firewall gromet and right side panels to the trunk (For Amateur Radio)
Note: Have not connected the cable to the battery as yet.

Found the answer:

Beep is function of the Security System and not the Keyless entry.....

The Security sysytem was in Valet Mode (page 7 of Security System Manual)

In Valet mode the Security System is on hold.

I did not put it knowingly in valet mode (No one else drives this vehicle)

Its out of Valet mode and BEEP works

Yes go to your drivers side under the steering wheel their should be a button (mine is located next to the fire wall) now place your car into second mode of turning on (before starting engine) then press the button for 5 or 6 seconds you'll see the light to your alarm system flash. Hope this helps.

Exit from the Valet Mode
1. With the system in the Valet mode and the key out of the ignition switch.

Steps from 2 to 4 must be completed within 3 seconds.
2. Insert the ignition key, and remove the ignition key from the ignition switch.
(All the way out.)
3. Insert the ignition key, and remove the ignition key from the ignition switch.
(All the way out.)
4. Insert the ignition key.

The Status LED will flash twice, indicating that the system is out of the Valet mode.
The system is now in the Disarm mode.
