2008 fit faulty tpms?

I was driving to work the other day and noticed my tire pressure light on my dash come on. I checked the tire pressure with my gauge and noticed that my rear passenger tire was a little low so i filled it and the light went off. The next day the light comes back on and the tire is low again so I go to check it with the gauge only nothing happens. All the other tires read 36psi but the gauge does nothing when I check the the rear passenger tire. I went to AutoZone and the guy said it was the TPMS and that they could order me one and I can still drive with it the way it is. Today it seems like the tire is low again and I don't want to fill it arbitrarily and I don't want to drive around on it much. I must have a slow leak. What should I do?

Why would it be a faulty tpms if it is telling you that one of your tires is low on pressure? And what do you mean the gauge does nothing when you checked the rear passenger tire? Maybe you just have a nail or something and should get it plugged/ fixed
