Water into interior carpeting
Water into interior carpeting
Hi All,
I live in Houston and we recently got 5 inches of rain in a day, parking lot flooded and I got water into my '07 fit. It did not go into the engine and didn't go more than 1/2 inch above carpet line, but still soaked it through and through. I've soaked it thoroughly with towels and now have it closed up with one of these (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...00_i00_details) inside. It's warm here (about 60) and should be so the next few days. If I keep doing this until the silica picks up no more moisture, will I be okay? Or do I need to replace all carpeting/jute? If the latter, any suggestions on where to purchase?
thanks

A good source for parts is majestic honda. I would personally remove the carpet and try letting it dry out before it gets moldy. You should know within a couple of days if there is any type of a musty smell. If it's moldy then buy new carpet.
