Wheel noise can't figure

Ok.. so my FL wheel is squeeking as if pad is wearing down, but more severely like grinding disc noise. I took the wheel off and spun the disc and it was still making the noise. The pads are still good, but I'm wondering if I should just replace the pad or maybe cylinder is sticking? Squeeling is almost constant wheather I brake or now, but braking makes it little less. I do see some lines on the disc and it's not perfectly smooth. Recent oil change showed brake pad to be ok though. The mileage is 75,000, maybe it's time for new pads?

Did you check both the inboard and outboard pads? The inboard pads can wear a lot faster than the outboard ones.

OR

A pebble is caught between the rotor and the splash shield inboard of it.

If the noise doesn't change under braking, and you can hear it while rotating the rotor with the wheel off, that's my guess.

I'd take the wheel off again, move the rotor in each direction (forward and backward), and gingerly push on the splash shield to dislodge any debris.

You can see the splash shield in the third picture in this post

It almost looks like part of the rotor.

+++++++++++++

PS, our Fit required new front pads at about 70K miles. So maybe you should change them out.
