break pads

I know that my brakes are wearing down..

but recently.. the front passenger side wheels have started to making some noise. The noise sounds like something is rubbing against something whenever I go above 40 mph.. then afte ri break and it goes down to 25mph or so it stops..
i had a friend look at the front pads and he said they looked ok.. the back pads are worn.

Could it be the brake pad issue or is it something else?
I've looked around the wheels and nothing appears to be caught...
bewildered...

whats the noise sound like? squeaking, knocking. When you turn does it make the sound. It probably could be your axles.

I highly doubt that it would be your brakes since brakes have a thin sheet metal that will make a noise telling you your breaks are about to give out.

Could be your inside pads if your outsides are getting close to being done. Pull your wheel off and check the inside pad. Working at a tire shop, I've seen some very uneven brake wear before.
