DOES NOT FIT: OEM 2008 wiper fit on 2007

I am in the process of ordering replacement wiper blades for my 2007 gd3.

I noticed that bernardi parts / honda actually has a different SN for 2008 vs. 2007 wiper blades.

76630-SLN-A01

vs.

76630-SLN-A11

Honda Front Windshield Wiper Blades Fit - Bernardi Honda Parts and Accessories

Can someone confirm that the whole blades are interchangeable? I'd like to order the 2008 blade for my 2007.

Yeah you should be fine. The part numbers are different but they are the same size. If you have the original Honda blades on your car still you could get just the rubber insert for them. The inserts usually only cost around $6 each.

Oddly enough I have the 07 blade in stock but not the 08. I also have the 08 insert but not the 07...how that happened I have no idea. The only difference seems to be the rubber itself. The rubber that slides into the blade looks thicker on the 08. The thickness of that part won't affect anything unless you were trying to put it into the 07 blade. Confused yet? Like I said, unless you have after market blades on it you might as well go to your local dealer and just get the inserts. If you have any other questions let me know.

Ok you'll get a laugh. I went to my local Brown's Honda in Arlington, VA and they wanted $75 after taxes for both blades!

I asked for a better price, but no dice.

Bernardiparts.com it is.

Holy shit, that's ridiculous! RT $21.33 LT $26.93 over here. Were they charging to install them? Even if they were I don't how they got to $75. I'm also surprised they wouldn't match an online price. As long as it's reasonable and we still make some profit on a part we usually price match. No other Honda dealers around, maybe give them a call?

RainX Latitude and Goodyear, etc. are just fine replacements. Don't really have to be OEM then again just me. You can pick them up at your local COSTCO, etc.

True, you don't need the OEM blades but it is benificial. With the OEM blades once you buy them all you will need to replace from then on are the rubber inserts in them. The inserts are only about $6-7 plus tax. Not only are you getting exactly what came on your car but you will save money in the long run. Not trying to use the salesman pitch but it is true hahaha.

No arguments here... Money saved is negligible and often rationalized with whatever suits us anyway...

I've been using the PIAA Silicone wiper blades. 24" and 15". They have been solid in warm weather. I'm not happy with the coverage on the little one, they suck in winter, and the drivers side get streaky easily when it wears and when dirt gets on it. The silicone part is good though, it leaves a silicone film which beads water up.

Here's the problem. Aftermarket blades rarely come in 15". 16" is too long. None of the new style Bosch Icon style blades, or the other brands (dont remember) teflon ones come in 15". You have to get old school metal framed blades. Some make the arm sit too high, or apply uneven pressure on the blade, squeak etc. The fit has weird wiper arms.

So I'm going back to stock. Except I prefer the new 2008 style wiper, which is more plastic to the old solid rubber 2007.

No that's just the item price. The dude was even like "every dealership sells at that price" - yeah right. I said it was steep, I told him I could get the same parts for $35 online. He said "we don't compete with online". I said "obviously your price is not competitive".

I don't mind paying more (msrp) to support a local business that provides services like stock on hand, ability to handle the merch. and instant returns. However raping your customers by adding a large premium over msrp is unnacceptable. I'll go in there and waste their time asking questions all day, check out the stuff and walk out, if that's how they want to roll.

The two Northern VA dealerships Browns and Bill Page were both EXTRA sleazy. When I bought my Fit I had terrible experiences with both. They came with every cheese dick car salesman trick, to try and add a $300-500 dollar premium above msrp (moving numbers around, getting 'agitated' etc., adding bs options) - and they also looked like cheesedicks. I suspect their clientele are largely latin immigrant, or yuppies so they get away with these tactics (no offense).

If you were in Hawaii or Alaska i could understand maybe a little mark up but thats just crazy. Actually thats just shitty customer service. You could also shove it in their face by telling them to go on the honda eStore to get prices. Most dealers have it setup on their website so you can order over the internet and have it shipped to you or the dealership. I highly doubt they are using it though. Brucecampbellhonda.com does have it on there though hahahaha. If I could help selling you them I would but I don't think I can beat Bernardi.

does not F-ing fit.

WTF

The passenger side blade does not fit. The 2008 blade is too long and hits the window molding. This is because the mount is centered whereas the 2007 blade is off center.

This is the 2008 76630-sln-a11 part. I guess the 2008 has a different wiper blade arm. The 08 blades are much nicer, rather than a hunk of rubber it has harder plastic which articulates at 2 points. The driver side appears to be OK.

Thanks Honda! Nice design choice, because making the wipers a little bit different for a car that has only 2 model years and <100K units sold makes sense.

Wow that's really dumb! I'm sorry man, I wouldn't have told you it would work had I know. What are the odds of them changing the centering of the blade.

Oh wow. I wonder if the changes fix the passenger side wiper chatter prominent on 07 Fits.

OK I ordered a set of the 07 blades 2008 76630-sln-a001.

Confirmed that they are exactly the same as the crappy rubber ones. Not the plastic ones on the 08. I'd be ok to settle however the worst part is the driver side blade leaves a big fat streak. I'm pretty pissed off.

I might actually replace the f-ing arms with the 08 ones. I'm to the point where I don't give a crap about the money and demand satisfaction.

Ok I fixed it dammit.

The 2008 passenger wiper blade ARM (76610-SLN-A11) is about 1/2 an inch shorter (INCREDIBLE ENGINEERING FEAT). So it will work the the 2008 passenger side blade.

I suspect this will also allow you to use more aftermarket 16" blades, like bosch.

The 2007 blades are horrendous, 2008 work and look better. Recommend.

It's better to stick with Honda's blades, rather than buying aftermarket blades. I have a 2008 Fit and kept the original blades on it. It's much cheaper and environmentally more responsible to just replace the rubber refills. Replacing the whole blade with aftermarket blades is a waste of money. Besides, most stores stopped carrying refills; NAPA is one of few stores that carry refills along with mom and pop shops.
