Hello! I'm currently on the verge of purchasing a Fit and found the perfect match except for one problem: no A/C! Yep, people in Canada actually buy cars without A/C for some reason!

The mileage is ok and the price is right, so I was wondering if it was possible/safe to install aftermarket a/c, even if that meant paying up to 1000$.

I'm in a city (Montreal) so there are many garages around. Thanks in advance for the advice.

although I'm slightly disappointed no one answered me, I called my local HOnda dealer and he told me that installing AC in a car is 1800$! I'm guessing this is on the high side. Has anyone had any experience installing an OEM AC at a garage?

I appreciate any replies or suggestions!
