Question Opening the tailgate panel?

Can anyone teach me how to remove the panel on the tailgate? I had accidentally pushed the manual unlock cover inside (into the panel) and I cannot get it out without removing the back panel.

There are 2 pushclips right by the tailgate latch, push the middle of the clips and pry them out. Then remove the plastic handle on the tailgate. After that, you can just pry the panel starting from the sides, be careful not to pry too hard as you may break the clips.

So I managed to pry apart the back panel and put it back but I cannot get the plastic handle (pull pocket) to fasten and it keeps falling out. I remember it became loose after I removed the push clips.

How do I put it back? Should I insert plastic handle before fastening the back panel with push clips?

Check the tabs on the handle, maybe it broke off when you took it out. I chipped mine off, but didn't have any issues of it falling off.

The tabs are still there, there doesn't appear to be any chip/broken portions. The tabs aren't that "deep" to begin with, i.e. it's not enough to keep the handle in. Is this normal?

Weird. Yours is in better shape than mine. How about checking the tabs on the panel itself? As I've said, my handle is kinda loose as well but not to the point that it falls off.

What's keeping your handle in place? Is it the plastic panel or the metal door?
