MPG: roof rack update & door visor question
Ok, I have been driving my 08 Fit Sport 5spd for about a month now and have the MPG info on the Thule roof / bike rack with wind faring. Without the roof rack I am consistently in the 36-38 mpg range and with it I am 30-32. All driving so far has been in Eastern NC so no real hills and not much A/C usage- though that is about to change.
Next question- I would really like to get a set of door visors, but am curious about not only wind noise but also any decrease in MPG. It sounds like a dumb question I know- something that small affecting MPG, but it is a protrusion into the wind line. Though I could see it having no real effect in MPG since aerodynamically the air at the leading edge of the door no longer has a truly laminar flow.

I've noticed no gas mileage loss personally at all, with the door/window visors. However, there is a considerable amount of noise. Mine are also missing the front bracket/pin on both front visors (as I was incapable of figuring this part out :/) I'm sure that may impact noise on mine.

My visors are very quiet Codi. I'm sure it's your missing brackets. Once you get them pinned, it will quiet them down.

WOW these look so much different to the OEM GENUINE ones here in AUSTRALIA... Is that really OEM?
If so would you happen to know the part number # for your window visor/weathershield?
Would love to get a set of those bad boys haha

A simple method for installation of Mugen and OEM Honda visors:
Install all pins and clips to the visors before attaching to the car. Rotate the open area of all clips away from the window frame edges, then measure and attach visors with the 3M tape. Using needle nose pliers, rotate the clips to attach to the metal window frame edges. Do not do any of this on an asphalt surface. Any dropped clips will completely disappear. Instead, park the car on a plastic tarp for installation.

Bit of an older thread, but I've got to ask--did you have your bike mounted the whole time? I've had roof racks before and saw maybe 5-10% hit, but not 17%. Seems pretty extreme.
