New to Fit
New to Fit
Hey everyone, found this site a couple weeks ago during my search for an 08' Fit, thought I'd share my new to me fit. The wife and i had been looking for one for about a month, can't find anything in my area that isn't high mileage or beat up, doesn't help we wouldn't settle for automatic. After keeping an eye on autotrader and cars.com this one popped up, 08' tidewater blue, one owner, 14,300miles. We jumped on it. Had to travel 120miles to Madison to take a look, it came home with us monday night. We got it for less than the ones we saw around here that had 70-80k miles and were beat up! Driving back it only averaged 27.61mpg hwy and i was kinda like wth. BUT, I did drive pretty spirited to see what it had and don't think i went under 75 most of the way. My wife drove it the rest of the week to work and around town, filled up today, used 4.652 gallons for 174.5 miles averaging 37.51mpg, cost me $16.28 to fill it up
VERY happy with that. She usually drives our 06' explorer during the week which gets about 15mpg so $16 is a shock to say the least! Anyways here are a couple pics.

Although all the ladies(70+)fawn over it, it won't be looking like this for long, I have to make it a little less girly!
Oh yea it already has a nice red scuff on the passenger side mirror..

Congrats short1. I too had to drive 2.5 hours to get the car I wanted (sport metallic orange, auto, one owner, 94,000 miles). At $6,500 I would have driven two days to get the bargain I got. So far I have changed out all the fluids (tranny, brake, radiator for $450) and bargained with my local Honda dealer to do my valve adjustment for $170. I love saving money. So for $6500 + $620 = $7120, I have a perfectly running car.
Please check under the rear magic seats to make sure there isn't any standing water on the floor from leaky side doors. Also check the rear spare tire well for water. I found my "leak" into the spare tire well; I had a hairline crack running from the end of the rubber roof rail strip, down into the hatch, just past the hatch hinge on the passenger side. I calked that and re-calked the entire hatch's rubber seal.

Thanks for the welcome! Yes it's 14k miles, type-o negative. I was in contact with the dealer like an hour after it was posted on cars.com When we got to the dealer to look at it, I wasn't sure about the color, it looks alot more girly in person (never seen it except in pics) I really wanted a black one, but my wife liked it and with that low of mileage I knew I couldn't pass it up. It's growing on me.
Was gonna pull the fogs yesterday to paint them but it started to rain right as i was removing the first one...WOW they could have put an extra inch or two of wire on there! Couldn't figure out how to unhook the harness, any tips on this?
