Oil leak

hey guys im having slow oil leak near drain bolt of tranny its between bell housing and tranny itself,i can say more around drain bolt..dont have much time to jack it up and look under...spo can somebody tell me if theres any other seals behind our tranny that can cause leak?,,coming from behind which looks like how it is to me..as far as i know the possible leak might be coming from axles itself? or main seal?...anyone had leaks down there?..i have 08 fit sport stick shift. thanks in advance guys!

The only thing you could address without undue hardship is the drain bolt. Next time you replace manual trans fluid, be sure to replace the aluminum crush washer.

I re-use these, but when they have any kind of droplet under them, I replace them.

I suppose that if your tranny were overfilled with fluid, the fill bolt crush washer might need to be replaced. Thirty minutes after a run, on a level surface, only a drop or two should come out of the filler if it is proper.

Other possibilities (less expensively rectified) are the rear main seal of the engine, or the trans seal themselves. Best course of action is to clean up any old oil, then try and see where the leak is coming from (and whether it is engine or trans oil).

If it's engine oil, check the PCV valve. If clogged, sump pressure could be causing a leak. The PCV should rattle when shaken, if not, clean with intake spray or replace.

If it's not PCV, then the cheapest action is to regularly monitor the fluid levels, topping up when necessary. (Time to buy pair of jack stands or ramps so you can check...)

One thing you could try is either take the drivers side wheel off or maybe even turn it all the way to the right and you will be able to look in through the wheelhouse fender liner and see that drain plug and parts around it and see where the leak is coming from.
