Removing the Rubber Spacers to lower the car?

Hi guys I've sorted out a cheap alternative way on lowering my car a bit. A car shop suggested removing the rubber spacers on the springs. Is it safe? Has anyone done this setup? If so- how many inches will it drop?

Noisy and will lower it only the thickness of what ever rubber you take out.

NOT RECOMMENDED

Metal on metal WILL damage each other eventually

Keep the rubber. WIll you honestly notice 1/4 of an inch or so? Thats about how thick it is once the weight of the vehicle is compressing it

Won't make a noticeable difference and will be noisy.

If you want a cheap alternative cut one coil off your stock springs and keep the rubber isolators.

I think that would be a bad idea... like others have said noisy for sure and metal on metal wear. Those isolators keep the spring from moving around and centred on the inverted spring cups..

I strongly recommend proper lowering springs if on a budget. It shouldn't be hard to find used springs.

I see them floating around the classifieds for $100 or less sometimes.

I was semi-joking about cutting your stocks, your car won't blow up or anything, but an aftermarket lowering spring is always safer/better.
