The last time I was vacuuming out my wife's 07 Fit I lifted up the rear seats to get to all the stuff that had accumulated underneath the seats. When we bought the car we were impressed with this feature. However, I can count on one hand the number of times we have used it. How often do you actually manipulate the rear seats, either flip them up or fold them?

 

I change them around quite frequently. The most recent time was a couple of days ago, when I bought some planks for trim on my house. Fold the seats down, fold the passenger seat down, and an 8' board fits diagonally quite easily. I've also carried several loads of insulation rolls (ten easily fit in the back), passengers, camping gear, my electronic keyboard and stand, and lots of other stuff.

The "tall" mode isn't as frequently useful as the usual upright and flat down modes, but there have been times where it's been handy. All the seat/cargo options make the Fit a very practical only vehicle for me.

 

My Fit has stayed in "tall" mode all of it's 7 years. I keep my bicycle there, and still have a "trunk".

 

I took my rear seats out for commuting and I hauled quite a few engines back there so I got the best of long/tall mode

 

As a hobby, I fly rather large R/C airplanes.
I bought my 08 Base Fit to haul them around.
I had been using a 94 Caprice station wagon to do so before I bought the Fit.
I switch from the passenger to cargo configuration just about every week.

Seriously, we keep the rear seat cushions in the upright position. The dog usually rides back there. It is also handy for bringing tall cans of plastic bottles to the recycling center.

 

I use it all the time. Depends on the season really. In the winter they go flat for snowboarding. I really need the mat for the trunk lol. Also flip them when I move stuff which is every few weeks I guess.

 

I only drive my fit about once a week but lifting the rear seat works great when hauling dry cleaning because I'm a tall person and if the rear seat was down, the clothes would be laying on the back seat. if i lift the seat, i can hang the clothes on one of the "oh shit" bars

 

I hauled a 46" LG LED HDTV with ample room for more while having two passengers - just folded down the rear two-seater on my GD3. Like a champ!

Refresh mode is great for road trips! Passenger can rest while seatbelted on the rear, so that when driver swaps happen, you can really rest until a swap happens again.

The car's got a whole lot of usefulness.

 

Since I smoke in my Fit, I just leave them up to protect the seat material.

Almost 7 years later and its still not burnt anywhere on the inside.
