Seems unnecessary but... If the housing is aluminum and you can remove it you can just google nearby electro plating shops in your area and they'll throw it into their next batch, depending on the color you want, of course. Same if it's steel though the process is less common and may cost more. Typically it's a $50 batch fee but could be less since yours is so small.
If the cover is cast aluminum you may not be able to anodize it. If it's machined you will. Worst case if it's cast you can bring it to a hungry machine shop and they can replicate it and machine for probably a hundred bucks.
