Where is the upstream Air Fuel (oxygen) sensor?
92k miles on my 2007 Fit. I've got a CEL code P0420 that popped up as winter fell. Simultaneously, fuel efficiency fell 10+% to 28mpg for a mix of city and highway. I'm hoping it's just dirty or worn out O2 sensors ("A/F sensors" in the manual). My manual has a nice drawing of the upstream / front sensor next to instructions to remove it (basically, "unscrew it"). But there is not enough context in the drawing for me to figure out where it is on the car!
Can anyone help with a photo or description of the upstream O2 sensor location, and how to get to it?
I can tell where the downstream sensor is, based on the drawing.
Thanks in advance!

It is on the exhaust manifold before the connection to the downpipe/catalytic converter. The connector for the oxygen sensor is attached to a bracket on the transmission.

make sure you unplug it before untwisting it. Also, those sensors like getting stuck in there, a healthy dose of pb blaster or liquid wrench will help remove it. Also running the car warm, and breaking the sensor loose while warm, will make it easier to remove when the engine cools down after a few hours
