Pioneer Double-Din install (Picture heavy)

Before I installed my DVD player I could not find a good DIY for the install so Here is a GD3 install.

here is all of the wiring and parts for the install.

I always recommend getting the wiring harness for ease of installation and removal if you ever decide to put it in another vehicle. Don'y forget the Honda antenna adapter. the blue wire goes to the remote. I Zip tie everything just to keep it clean.

The "optional" parking brake bypass. I found it on ebay. Directions are silly easy.

Everything installed on the back of the unit as a test fit.

Head unit installed in the dash kit with trim ring installed. Skip the trim piece if you have a motorized face on the unit. I could not get a good picture of the side mounts included in the kit it was just too dark. You will need to add the supplied side mounts to the unit is sturdy and level.

Push in the two corners of the glove box and pull it down.

Here is a video (not mine) of how to remove the dash. When removing the HVAC clips remember to slide the toward the center of the vehicle, hold the clip down, and then slide the the cable off. This took a little effort but not it is not that hard.

Everything re attached to the dash kit.

If you want to change the color of the HVAC controls now is the time. The blue is a factory sleeve. I am planning to make this a bright blue when I install my sub.

Dont forget to add the OEM support plates or it will not bolt back in.

Here is the final product.
With trim ring

Without

With the trim ring installed the unit will not open it is just too tight. When it is not 2 degrees out I will Drimmel the sides off and glue them in for a more finished look but it does not look bad at all.

Which dash kit did you use? OEM Navi or aftermarket?

Good DIY for those who are a little clueless with car audio.

Hi, i have this very same DVD player and would like to install it on my 2003 Honda fit, jdm. Is this the very same install? I am in the process of purchasing harnesses and adapters etc, and would like to make sure that I am getting the correct parts.

Grateful for any help and advise.
