Radio LCD Problem
Radio LCD Problem
Has anybody had a problem with the stock radio display from a 2007 Sport?
It's backlit, but you can barely see just parts of the LCD. (left side is completely gone, but the right side you can almost make out the last character)
Thanks for the replys!

What kind of math did you use to get 13 years? If his 07 was purchased in 06 it would be 8 years old (2014 - 2006 = 8).
My display on my 8 year old '07 is starting to get weak too. It's probably not serviceable, without replacing the whole unit. Hey it's an 8 year old car, no worry yet. If you buy one on ebay or other used, be sure to get the security code!
I have the same problem on my 2008 Fit Base. It is heat related. I run the AC With the vents pointed downwards toward the unit to get the display back. A radio repair shop might be able to repair the unit. The display screen is likely the weak culprit. I've seen it happen in a mixing board made by Tascam as well. Heat is an enemy to electronics. I plan to stop by a repair shop to see what can be done.
I figured it out. The IE10 content filter button was turned on which was not allowing any text at all to pass through.
No thanks, been there, done that...
Google is owned by SATAN! I don't need them secretly knowing everything I do. Firefox has more issues than all of them put together!
IE11 sucks for now, but they will get it fixed soon.

I just bought a 2007 Fit and I'm having the same issue. It also has a big spot right in the middle of the LCD screen which I'm assuming was from some sort of an impact to the screen. I would like to replace it as one of the seek buttons doesn't work. I hope you don't mind me posting this question on your thread, but I thought it would add to the commentary.
Is it worth it to buy a new stock unit or should I just go to an aftermarket system?

Just for the record, my screen has never been hit in any way, and this happens all the time, so it's not related to temperature.
Found out what the LCD problem is!
I'm back with what I believe is the answer to the LCD problem. The LCD display has gone bad. A car radio repair shop looked at my Fit's radio. Honda's faceplate is a proprietary face plate mated to an Alpine header unit. The display is integrated to the bezel. You need to replace the bezel with a new one, and transfer the heating & AC controls to the new bezel. Unfortunately, it's quite an expensive part, so you'll need to shop around a few Honda dealers to get a good price. You'll need to order a volume control knob as well unless you find a way to remove the old one without damaging it.
Anyone else who has this problem in Southern California, the shop I went to for help is Car Radio Repair Center in Garden Grove on Euclid Street and Westminster Avenue, on the Garden Grove/Santa Ana border. I'm going to print this thread and give the owners a copy of it. I told the shop owner about the forum before I had him look at the radio.
