stuttering 2007 Fit with MIL
stuttering 2007 Fit with MIL
my 2007 fit with a little over 50k miles on it has been stuttering for about 2 weeks, my MIL light blinked on and off (1x) so I finallly had Autozone scan it.
it came up with
P0303
P0300
P0302
P0301
Autozone said it was more than likely bad gas, and recommended a fuel injector cleaner and using high octane gas.
I ran a bottle of Techron and filled up with 93 ocatane gas..
so, I'm keeping my eye on the peformance...but could it be anything else?

Well, I'd like to have others chime in but it seems that ignition coil failure is a very common problem with GD Fits. It seems that all I read about are people with misfire problems change their coil packs and their problems go away.
I recommend ordering the Hitachi ignition coils from RockAuto Parts Catalog. They are cheaper than the Honda branded ones and are exactly the same part, since Hitachi manufactures the coils for honda anyway. Changing the coils is an easy job and doesn't require taking anything apart really and it can be done with basic tools.
While you order some coils, might as well get a set of spark plugs and change them too if you haven't done so in the past 60k or so miles.
A valve lash adjustment could help too but from your engine codes, I suspect it is the coils.
Good luck.

The P0300 is a random misfire detected code. The P03001 is cylinder number one misfire, the p03002 is the cylinder number two misfire, and the p03003 is cylinder number 3 misfire. So technically the car is only reading misfires on cylinders one, two, and three. I had the same problem and had to put three coils on mine. I also went ahead and changed the plugs with ngk plugs. The car runs like its brand new now. It still wouldn't be a bad idea to put all 4 coils in it. They are defiantly a known problem in the fits. If three have went bad its probably pretty close to having 4 bad ones. Just my two cents.
IIRC bad coil will also set additional code pointing to the open or shorted coil circuit? in addition it will set solid misfire code.
Anyways IMHO do this:
clear the codes
if code appears check for good connection between common black ground wire and the engine block
also look on the spark plugs
and finally swap the coils around to see if code moves with coil
