Headlight dimensions? Retrofit

I was lurking around the lighting section, but there seems to be more activity here, especially relating to the first gen.

I did a retro on my last car, which unfortunately broke down on me with 230k miles...which is how I came about owning a honda fit

What are the dimensions of this part of the headlight? The green and the red?

I wanted to try retrofitting this in (LS460 bixenon):
DIMENSIONS:
- DEPTH: 6.00 inches ( 152.4 mm)
- HEIGHT: 6.50 inches ( 165.1 mm)
- WIDTH: 6.00 inches ( 152.4 mm)
- LENS Diameter: 3.00 inches ( 76.2 mm)

The retrofit source offers a smaller version, with the ballast trimmed, but it's nearly $500, which I'm having a difficult time justifying. I may just end up going with some cheap TLs if the unmodified ones don't fit.

Also, has anyone else done a retrofit? How does the bixenon thing work? I get that there's a plate that flips so that they're brighter, but what about the wiring? Is this thing enough? Is it just plug and play?

Bi-xenon: 'MotoControl 9003/H4/HB2 - Relay Harnesses from The Retrofit Source Inc
Sorry if this seems out of place or noob of me to ask. I'm usually not really a modding guy, but after having HID projectors in my last car, it's hard going back to halogens, and I want to do this right. Thanks for reading

My friend, your post will be moved to the appropriate forum once the admins see this post. It's all good though.

i don't have a GD, but i retrofitted my GE. Both gens are blessed with a massive spacious headlight. You can fit almost anything in there. Is this your first retrofit? Aside from Morimoto D2S, all other projectors would require you to cut your headlight. The LS460 + shroud would definitely fit. I myself want a larger shroud, however the largest shroud TRS sells is still not enough to cover the space for my GE. The D2S is cheap and would definitely fit.

The harness will hook up to your OEM headlight harness socket. When u trip the highbeam, the harness will trigger the projector to flip the cut off shield for the high beam. It's pretty simple once u get to that part and if u have done HIDs before then it shouldn't be so hard at all.

Believe me, once you retrofit, you will never go back to even plain HIDs.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Yes, I had evo8 projectors in my last car (first gen mazda 3, http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/album.php?albumid=520 ). They had the same lens size as the stock halogen projectors, but they were wider and longer, so I had to do a lot of cutting a shaving. I ending up going through 3 rotary cutting tools They were low beam only though, as that car had separate reflector halogen hi beams. I'm a bit intimated by the bixenons.

I'm glad to hear these can handle LS projectors, I've always wanted to try them, but I've never had a car with headlights that were large enough.

Also, does anyone have any experience with theretrofitsource? I've never ordered anything from them.

I'll probably get the Bi-xenon: 'MotoControl through them, and maybe some wiring for some lexus ballasts I have...and clear lenses

I went ahead and ordered a cracked LS460 headlamp from ebay for $92 last night, if the projectors fits alright I'll buy another one, if not I'll re-list the projector and start looking for TLs.
