rear wiper not stopping

The rear wiper on my 2007 Fit doesn't stop wiping regardless of the position of the rear wiper control on the wiper switch stalk. Everything else on the switch (front wipers, front and rear wash) works as it should. Does anyone know if the problem is more likely to be with the rear wiper control or the rear wiper motor?

Does it stop when you turn your car off?

Thanks for your replies. It does stop when the car is turned off. At the beginning, the rear wiper didn't work regardless of there the rear wiper switch was set. Then it didn't stop working. Once or twice, opening and shutting the rear hatch made it stop moving, or made it start moving again. Most recently it didn't stop moving when the car was on regardless of what I did. So I took out the rear wiper fuse, but then none of the power windows worked. At the moment I've put the fuse back in, took off the rear hatch panel, and unplugged the wiper motor.

Finally found out why the rear wiper motor won't stop. Started having problems with fuse 12 (small lights) and fuse 22 (power window relay, power window master switch, and rear wiper motor) blowing regularly, but intermitently. Took a while, but discovered that the wiring had deteriorated inside the rubber boot connection between the rear hatch and the drivers side rear side panel. Of the nine wires only one was still good. Three were cut, and five had copper showing. Repaired the broken and damaged wires. My rear wiper motor is working again, and the fuses are no longer blowing. Thinking the problem back in 2017 was that one of the wires leading to the wiper moter was already cut at that time.
