From what I've read and gathered this is an O2 sensor issue but I wanted to confirm (before I spend $150):

This is for the front O2 sensor?

Thanks in advance!

yes the is a pre cat and post cat O2 sensor. If you have your car tuned with flashpro, select the option to eliminate the secondary O2 sensor and swap you existing sensors so that the good one is upstream and your burnt out sensor is in the secondary position for aesthetics.

Another thing:

I read at some point that the new o2 sensor needs to be calibrated once installed... I've never had to do this to another car - is this necessary? How is it done if so?

I just had to replace the primary and secondary oxygen sensors a few days ago. Plug-and-play then use a scan tool to erase the Check Engine Light. Or just unhook the negative terminal on the battery, ensuring to write down any stereo codes or other information you might lose. No need to calibrate anything. You'll also need both sensors if you have to pass emissions, otherwise you can get away with replacing just the primary sensor.
