How many miles is too much?
I'm looking to buy a 2007-2008 Fit. Is buying a Fit with 150-170k miles a bad idea? The prices I'm seeing are in the $3700-4000 range. I plan on having a mobile mechanic do a pre-purchase inspection, but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

IMO, Fit's are overvalued in the used market. You have to remember that they are the cheapest new Honda you can buy. Full sticker price 11 years ago was only $15k for a Sport. Less for the base.

$900 Deduct for black color
Common past 100k miles repairs (starter, alternator, hoses, thermostat, radiator etc on GD3 Fit is very time consuming thanks to the tight under hood space; this should be taken to consideration too

I'm not sure why these cars go for so much money - in the SF Bay Area they're typically $5000 in decent condition with up to 150k on them. I payed $2750 for mine, with 230k miles - I think that price for an example with 150k would be more reasonable.
Considering the common problems these cars have - shuddering clutch, tapping engine, leaky hatch area - I don't understand why the market supports such high prices.

For its exotic cute "pet" look and roomy interior (it look like a toy car from children's book), just add lashes to the headlights and smile to the front bumper Despite its short length, it is 4 door , has a lot of headroom and wide enough to sit 3 people in the back, contrary to many other compacts which are build for midget occupants.
