LCD radio display change notes (with pictures)
Push on the tab before sliding the wire loop
Remove indicated screws (2 big, 6 medium) and pull the audio unit straight up
Route cables in front of the black wire loom!
Blue cable is for the heater, orange is for the mode selection and purple is for fresh/recirc big connector is for fan speeds, small for illumination and mode switch
Mode selector cam is pushing the microswitch in defrost position to tun on a/c
LCD screen on PCB board

My old display
Right, top to bottom: mounting base, lighting prism, diffuser and the screen itself. It is made of 2 layers of glass with blue adhesive inside . When heated up it melts and migrates around creating voids which showing up as irregular white spots on the display. Very cheesy! The digital clocks on my 79 Supra and 87 Camry had outlasted the car!
