GE Radio disassembly
This is a post just for anyone looking or needing to disassemble a radio. I tried this with hopes of being able to turn the LCD display red/orange/amber as well as the buttons. The button LEDs would have been possible but the LCD display not, or not within my level of skill or knowledge. I present these images for you. I'm not in need of any help or discussion. They are backward ordered, the last image is actually before I took the unit apart. So you can go from bottom to top image to see the details of disassembly. Enjoy.

You need these wires to power up the unit - 2 negative/grounds and 3 positives

Are those LED's covered with a rubber that has color to it?
If they give off a white color, then you can add a color "cover" over it like I did:

That's great.
Say, what do you think of adding an aux port to the radio chassis ("chassis aux port") in order to run a hidden aux lead from other permanently-installed device (say, xm radio)? I'd like to preserve use of dash-mounted aux port too so I suppose a new chassis au port could be wired in parallel to OEM dash aux port but one would have to remember to disconnect aux lead from device feeding chassis aux port when using the dash aux port, I suppose. Any thoughts?
