whatisthatfor?

i saw some kind of square cork block when i remove front door panel.I want to know how to call it and what is that for.
it is not at the door but it was attach to door cover.I need to buy new bcos my mom let it go.

Good question. Not sure what you would call that! Some sort of foam insert. Part of the arm rest maybe.

Crash protection is what I was told. Not sure what exactly it's supposed to do in a particular crash, but that's why engineers put it in there.

I know various other makes and models also have a similar cube of material in some doors
I've also seen many of those just thrown away when they cause problems (like come loose and jam under the glass)
