okay, so my fit is going to be 4 years old and my driver side door just slaps off and shuts without any pause in between. Other doors (less used) still have one or two brakes between them.. i dont know if you understand what i am saying , but i think this is what causes the door to pause between movements.

IF this is the part that needs to be changed, anyone has any idea how can it be replaced and approx how much does it costs ?

 

I don't have any part number information for you, but on a car that I used to own the same part was referred to as a 'door check.'

 

Yes door checker as Brayton said. Its actually pretty easy to replace. But if ur mechanically inclined the charge is typically 1 hour labor at the dealership. The door panel has to be removed to replace it.

i had it replaced yesterday.. the door now feels like new..
