Piggyback or Reflash for FBO?
Piggyback or Reflash for FBO?
Making this thread because I can't quite find the answers that I'm looking for. I currently have the Takeda CAI and an HKS Hi-Power axleback, and I plan on getting the HKS midpipe and Weapon R """header""" by the end of this year. I want to get it tuned once that's done, but I'm not sure how I should go about that. Should I get some sort of piggyback, or get my stock ECU flashed? Dyno tune, or e-tune? 2011 Sport 5MT with no Nav if that helps
I prefer reflash. You'll probably need Ktuner (shameless plug: my unit will be for sale when I can unlock it from my ECU).
I previously used Unichip piggyback; got better results from flash tune. I've not tried e-tune; prefer dyno tune.

Thank you very much, I will go this route. Do I install the KTuner before or at the dyno?
Ktuner all the way. But one thing to note is there’s no upgraded maps on it. It’s just a speed density conversion where it uses the map sensor and not the maf sensor.
if you’re n/a you’re likely to see a max of 10 whp/wtq gains and that’s advancing the timing a crazy amount requiring 93 octane. Equalizing the air fuel ratio for an intake and exhaust will net you maybe ~5 on whp and wtq
You will gain midrange power around the vtec crossover which you can also define.
