Vinyl wrapping a spoiler

So im going to get some CF vinyl to wrap my hood, spoiler, rear garnish and mirrors BUT i have no idea how i am going to tackle the spoiler...

Everything else is basically flat and u just have to make sure to wrap under then cut butt the spoiler needs to be wrapped basically all the way around.

HOW DO I DO THIS and make it look decent?

I don't think i have ever seen anyone do this and maybe thats for good reason now that i think about it.

If i can't im going to consider doing the roof and hatch and leave the spoiler body colored, may look kinda cool.

If i have left over Im going to wrap some interior things as well like navi trim, upper glove box, vents, gauges, A/T trim and switch garnishes on doors.

Im getting a heat gun so it should be easy once i get the hang of it.

I'd love to hear your thoughts guys!

Practice and patience. User vinnymac just wrapped a license plate frame, and he said he started small to get practice. I think that's the best advice you could get.

haha yeah that is true but i mean the actual technical aspect of a proper way to wrap the fit's spoiler. its just akward and almost impossible to use a single piece all the way around it without seams...

Right, I'm sure it can be done, it just takes a lot of technical skill. A guy I sold some wheels to used it to make a "lip" for his civic. It looked good till you got up close and saw he used like 17 pieces, lol.

Put soapy water on your car and on the back of the vinyl first, so you will still be able to work with it... also look at Don's work https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/sale...nyl-wraps.html you can ask him a few tips... he's a great guy to deal with and extremely knowledgeable... just look at his work!!! heat gun is a good idea too...

I would say that it is impossible to use a single piece. I would wrap the top and bring it around the back and sides to the bottom and apply a second piece to the bottom with the seam being about 1" in from the back and side edges.

this is what i was initially thinking, just wanted some other thoughts. i guess all thats left is to decide which cf vinyl i want to use because im not using the 3m stuff, its not made to come off clean from surfaces like a painted car and after 5 years when i strip it i don't want my paint effed up. the only thing i would consider using the 3m stuff for is interior trims

perhaps you could put vinyl on the middle section and leave the sides as-is... it might come out very clean! othewise, it must be very hard to match the weave

There's no easy way to do it, especially with CF-esque vinyl.

I did my fairing and gas cap the other day out of boredom. Flat black on flat white houndstooth.
