Installed OEM Center Console this weekend

The fit sport only comes with a drivers side armrest no armrest on the passenger side. So this weekend I installed a Honda center console. Not a bad install took about 1.5 hours. Center console provides additional storage plus an armrest big enough for both driver and passenger. Pad on console slides forward or up and out the way. Console pad is done up with what appears to be nice leather and sticthing. Very nice upgrade for the interior. Leif

No you cannot use the drivers side armrest. The kit comes with a cap to insert, which covers the threaded bolt holes that remain when you remove the drivers side armrest.

Is yours MT or AT? Honda says that this cant be used on the MT because it will get in the way of shifting.

I have the center console on my MT. It doesn't get in the way. It works so well I don't know how I drove without it.

Thats what I thought. Figured it was a way of preventing lawsuits or something.

This is a great video to watch if you are thinking about installing an Armrest. Shows you what the Armrest looks like after the install in all the postions. The only thing I would add is it is not a 5 minute install . Took me 1.5 hours. Leif

I don't remember how long it took me to install mine, but it was definitely not 5 minutes. I would guess it was around 1-1.5 hours like Leif's. One thing that set me back a while was dropping one of the bolts that held down the e-brake cable bracket. It fell under the carpet in the back seat, and I had to do a lot of digging around to find it.

I got the dealer to throw one of these in when I bought my base model. It was a must-have for me. I use the interior storage space all the time. And the flip up is great for when I move my car into a nice shady spot at lunchtime to slide over to the passenger seat and take a nap.

Just did the install today after watching the video a couple times and printing out the instructions. It took me about 45 mins total. Def a great add-on. I don't know what I did without it before. Now I have a place to put my sunglasses, garage door opener and reg/ins. info.

Highly recommended.
