^ Yeah I thought about that, but the Pioneer remote mimics all of the functions on the radio's faceplate I can tune while driving lol. Its kinda like the DRZ9255 remote where every control can be accessed through the remote.

Besides, Im broke after buying that radio

That soundproofing is amazing. Can you tell me how much that dampened road noise?

And also, did you do the doors also?

It made a pretty big difference IMO. The only noise that I notice now is the wind noise that leaks through the window seals and the engine - the treatment really killed a lot of the road noise.

Yes, I did do the doors as well. I used CLD tiles on the outer metal shell then this combination on the outer metal shell in this order: CLD tiles - VB2-HD - 1/8" closed cell foam - MLV barrier. I also added a few layers of CLD tiles on the plastic door panels as well to just for added mass.

these are the products I chose.
Sound Deadener Showdown - Your Source for Sound Deadening Products and Information
Automotive Noise Control - Soundproofing
Sound Deadening Materials for Noise Reduction from Second Skin

Im itchin to rip out the dash and add some CLD tiles and MLV as well

Nope, the A-pillar/trunk/sub enclosure has changed. I swapped out the battery as well.

dude give me a call when you're down here! I'd love to hear your setup, I want to see what car audio is all about. right now I'm just using a Pioneer P4100dvd with a Precision Power PCX-480, one 12' JL W3, and only front stage with Hertz HSK-165 components. sounds pretty decent but the stage is centered to the center of the car.. Sometimes I like to tilt my head to the middle and enjoy how it sounds.. haha other times I just enjoy my little stereo setup at home.

Thanks! My trunk is totally different with different equipment...much more stealth now

Just bought an DSLR, I'll take pics when I figure out how to use it properly and when I finish the trim panels in the trunk.

That can be done but im not sure if anyone here wants to chop up their metal behind the kicks for increased air flow Im also not sure if I want people cutting it up - liability issues...hacked off fingers, cuts, damage to the car etc...

I haven't heard the XXXs yet, so I cant comment on them. I don't like buying speakers without any Klippel analysis or at least accurate FR graph plots though.

I discovered this thread on DIYMA, but the pictures were all down. I was stoked when I saw it on here. Pictures are dead for me here too though.
