It is extremely unlikely that the stock Nav unit would have any form of video input. It's certainly possible to do it, but that'd require actually opening it up and manually putting an input in. That would probably mean you have some sort of electrical engineering degree or something of that sort. If you want back, you'll have to replace it, most likely.

thanks for the quick reply, well if its not on fitfreak.net then it aint possiable lol. I was of course hoping that someone replaced there stock navi and saw its ports from behind to see if it had an input for video which of course would have been nice. If its not possiable then ill just get a 09 Fit Sport without Nav, although im debating if getting VSA/NAV is worth it knowing I will be replacing the NAV with a higher end HU

It might be possible according to this thread ---> https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...-possible.html

afaik no one tried it yet.

I should have pulled the whole Navi unit out and checked the back myself when I did the JDM hazard mod, but I forgot to see what inputs might be on the back.

It's still one of my dream mods to do...

The Navi isn't the best unit on the market, but it does it's job, the VSA is definitely a good feature to have, and the audio controls on the steering wheel sealed the deal for me. After reading the older threads of adding audio controls on the GD's I knew it would be a wiring nightmare for me. I figure if I get fed up with the OEM Navi, I can always upgrade it in the future with a nice Pioneer, and use a Pac adapter for the steering wheel audio controls. I'd be happy just adding a rear view camera to it. DVD playback isn't that important to me, and I just use my bluetooth headset for handfree (although it would have been nice to have it integrated in to the Navi).

You know, after thinking about it, I suppose it is possible that there may be an empty harness slot on the back of the unit. But the only reason there would be is it a rear view camera were an option, and I don't think it is one. One other possibility is if Honda uses the same Nav unit in the Fit as say maybe Civic that may have the option. But as far as I know, that isn't the case. Otherwise, I think it is highly unlikely.

I recall we tried to figure out if it was the same Navi as in the Civic. The part #'s were nearly identical but not the same (I think they were off by 2-3 letters or #'s) . Some said it's probably the same Navi as in the 2007 Civic, but with a lot of disabled features (bluetooth, rear view camera, DVD play back, and some others).

If that's the case there might be hope.

I'm gonna take a look at the Navi once most of my mod list is done (not that I know what I'm doing.. ) hopefully there's a way to get a rear view camera wired in. If not, I can always upgrade later on and it will make it lot easier since the steering wheel audio controls are already in place.

I strongly believe its possible to get a rear view camera installed on the OEM Honda NAV. Most OEM HU have this input. I will be looking into this before i purchase a 09 fit.

Rear View camera on a Fit? Wow, I hope this is just for bling effect. If anyone seriously needs one on a Fit, maybe driving skills should be reevaluated. Just my take.

Maybe that's why this thread is dead.

could be dead cause it's less hassle to get an aftermarket one.
it would be a nice mod if anyone ever figures it out, not like anyone needs it on any car, but it helps in garage spaces.

a rearview cam only costs $20 to add on to an aftermarket headunit so why not?

Like I said, I hope its not because the driver needs one.

Most other Navi's have the option. So why cut it out of the GE8?

I plan on getting one with my nav. I'd rather always be 100% sure I'll never tap my bumper on anything.
