Alternate seat covers
I was about to purchase some nice seat covers from a vendor outside of the forum family and stopped after I read something on another forum regarding air bag compatibility. The YouTube video showing the product working properly had me sold...yet one customer stated that there was 'no guarantee' written into the instructions in contrast obviously to Honda's OEM covers.
Are there any decent covers out there which simply protect the seat/seat back both with unobtrusive ties and proven 'fit' for the Fit?

I was under the impression that Clazzios were not 'guaranteed' to work with air bags; which is what prompted me to look further.
As mentioned earlier; seeing it on YouTube was initially enough for me...and I certainly understand that they cannot guarantee what they don't install...yet I'm pretty conservative by nature and want that bag to deploy by no fault of mine.

The clazzio have an area on the side of the seat cover that have tear away stitching so the airbag can deploy through it. The problem is aligning that area with the airbag. With everything involve like the bag itself, the stitching, installation of the seat cover, etc. that's why Clazzio is made to work with airbags but can't guarantee it perfect deployment.
Once you own a set and install it you will see why.
I've seen other covers like the one costco sell that have a flap that's not completely stich all around to the seat cover. That would allow a much higher chance for the airbags to function properly. The draw back is the seat cover isn't going to fit as snug since a section of it isn't fully stich together.

Costco sells Coverking brand made from neoprene for a very good price. You can also get them other places. They are designed to work with the airbags. I bought some for my front seats--they have opening for the airbags.

Most seat covers these days are designed to work with side airbags. However, no company will "guarantee" them, as doing so opens them up for a liability risk. Given how lawsuit-happy Americans have become, would you guarantee your products to not interfere with an airbag, especially when it is installed by the end-user in his carport on a sunday afternoon?
