iPod holder for my fit

iPod holder for my fit
So I finally got off my butt and made a custom iPod holder for my Fit, now I use a single Din Alpine unit with a pocket below and the pocket seemed to have a small gap between it and the Alpine so I decided to use that to my advantage.
Alpine as it sits with no holder and the gap.
Here is the holder in raw state, 18gauge steel cut and bent to the shape I designed.
Here is the first test fitment into the gap.
After the test fitment, I sanded it with 3 different grades of sandpaper then painted it satin black.
After my initial test, the small lip on the front was too high, and there was not enough stabilization to keep the iPod in the holder when going over a large bump. So I trimmed down the front piece and then added a small velcro strap to the holder that helps keep the iPod from falling out and it's a very quick in and out process.
Overall I am happy with the outcome, took a few hours because of paint drying time, but I like it.
