Fit Killed my iPod!!!!!!

Grrrrrrrrr. I'm mad as hell. iPod has the unhappy face of death (hardware is gone). Although there isn't anything you guys can answer that I can't ask people on the iPod forums, I do have one question?

Has anyone had this problem?

And don't anyone say the fit isn't the culprit. I was driving and listening to music and the music suddenly stopped. I got home and the unhappy triangle face appeared.

Actually I'm not that mad because my ipod (5th generation) wasn't doing it for me. It could be a blessing in disguise. Totally buying the iPod touch now, but still...grrrrr

I would never tell you what you don't want to hear - but I will say I've had the 5th G Ipod unhappy face experience without the Fit - more than once. They seem today around 18 months in.

It's 100x more likely that your iPod just broke rather than the head unit actually killing it.

I would also like a back story. If there is a legitimate claim with some sort of evidence to back it up we might have a problem on our hands.

How did you decide it was your Fit? Why not the other 1000 hrs of operating time?

i have been using my nano in my fit since december...there were a couple times where it would not recognize that my ipod was plugged in, but i would just reset the ipod, and all would be good. nothing ever wrong with that usb jack from the car.

I think it's been accepted that OP is a tool and thinks the Fit killed his iPod.

ipod hard drives are pretty touchy as it is. My friend's crashed last week.
maybe excessive bouncing could have killed it.
