Does your iPod stay on even after everything else is off?

Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone is experiencing this issue. After I turn off my car, I notice that my iPod never turns off automatically. (I've waited a few minutes before checking) Is this a setting on my iPod that needs to be changed, or are people manually shutting off their iPod every time they get out of the car?

Thanks in advance.

it should go like this.
as soon as you turn off the car the ipod should go
to pause and then stay on for like i guess a minute
then turn off automatically.

but yes it should go off by itself automatically.
just not right away. take a little bit.

If it pauses when the car is turned off, the iPod should shut off after 5 minutes or so. I thought there was a setting to change this time, but I just looked in my iPod's setup menu and couldn't find it.

yeah most iPods will just turn off (unless music is still playing) after a minute or two

or you can just hold the play button, and it will shut off manually
(just in case you didn't know)
